3 The Role of Grant Administration Anticipate impact of public policy and regional employer demands on CSTCC Understand needs of students vis-à-vis capacity of internal stakeholders to educate & prepare a skilled regional workforce Identify, pursue, secure and effectively manage grant investments and partnerships made towards advancing the strategic mission of the college Collaborate with Institutional Advancement to meet fundraising goals

5 2011 – 2012 Results Health Careers Collaborative of Greater Cincinnati (HCC) DOL Grant ($4.9 million) largest CSTCC grant as of 2010 Day-to-day grant manager & HCC Executive Director 10 external partners & grant recipients (Mercy Health, Children’s Hospital, UC Health, TriHealth, Mercy Neighborhood Ministries, etc.) 1937 Recruited/Served (258% of goal) 1215 Completed Training (187% of goal) 706 Employed (118% of goal) Results as of 3/30/13; final quarter data still being compiled.

6 2011 – 2012 Results, Con’t. Director Grant Adm. & Dean Marianne Krismer develop Pathway to Employment (PTEC) Concept Director Grant Adm. & Batelle Foundation consultant draft $19.6 million H2P Consortium proposal for which CSTCC agrees to serve as lead grant applicant H2P funded – largest CSTCC grant – PTEC pilot project funded Total new grants secured 2011-2012 = $30,502,762

7 2012 – 2013 Results Weekly meetings with internal stakeholders to discuss funding needs, grant opportunities Common hour seminars (open to all) on grant process, National Science Foundation grant process New grants secured totaling $3,523,572 FY 2013 revenue from Indirect Expense recovered from grants = $500,000

Current Pipeline of Grant Proposals Pending Approval = $10,854,022 including: TAACCCT Round 3: WDC/CIT/H&S/ESD GCMCA Single Applicant ($2,750,000) for Manufacturing, new Welding Degree; includes $500,000 in new CNC and virtual welding equipment M-Advantage Consortium ($2,490,839) WDC/CIT/H&S/ESD Welding & Industrial Maintenance includes virtual welding and Industrial Maintenance equipment SHAPE Consortium ($2,316,051) BTD/H&S/ESD new Culinology Degree and Kitchen Upgrades US Dept. of Education C-Campis Mallory Child Care Center ($756,972) Student supports & child care subsidies for Pell-eligible & military parent students.

10 Aligning Strategy & Investments All grant proposals tied directly to CSTCC Strategic Plan All are responsive to state, federal emphasis on completion, accelerated progress, employment All document current local employer needs, forecasted occupational demand, and seek to enhance college’s capacity to be relevant in meeting those workforce training needs

11 Future Objectives Support & collaborate with Institutional Advancement team to maximize results Leverage Grant Success to Attract New Investments H2P grant work has national reputation and partnerships (Gates Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, TAACCCT Round 3 contracts for TA proposed at $2.25 million) PTEC recognized by DOL as best practice, was leveraged as element to Urban Accelerator & GE Get Skills to Work projects done by WDC TAACCCT Round 4 in 2014 Currently funded success strategies can boost reimbursements under new State success formula

12 Grant Administration FAQ’s Director of Grant Administration (1.0 FTE) Contractual Grant Consultant (2.5 days/week) Grant Success Rate = 72% of proposals written have been funded since May 2011 Value of current Grant Portfolio = $25,043,745.00 Value of Grants expired 6/30/13 = $6,910,950.00
