Whether your brand new or have had your scentiversary you might still be asking the same question…Now What? There is SO much to learn it’s hard to know what to do 1st and often you can become overwhelmed. Take a Deep Breath…It’s OK…you did NOT bite off more than you can chew Now what???

3 Who’s Who in Scentsy Sponsor – the person you are signed up under
Upline – people between your Sponsor & your Director Frontline – Someone you sponsored directly. Downline – Anyone who you sponsored or anyone they sponsor or that their recruits sponsor in the future. Director – The person responsible for your Team (I am responsible for the Team Aspire and you are a member of my Team). Group – Everyone in your Downline regardless of level or team. Team – Once you promote to Director your downline becomes your team. As new Directors promote in your Downline, their Downline will become their Teams. The difference between “group” and “team” is: Group is everyone in your downline. Team is everyone in your downline minus your Directors and their teams.

5 What’s Your Goal? Do you want to stay home with your KIDS?
Do you want an extra $300 a month for SHOPPING? Do you want a full-time income and FIRE YOUR BOSS? Do you want to be able to afford that NEW CAR or HOUSE? Do you want to TRAVEL? What do you want ???… Everyone joined for one reason or another so why did you join? What do You Want from Scentsy? It’s about goal setting. Once you decide what you want from your business, now set a plan in motion. Write down the goal, share it with others, (makes it more real) and post these goals somewhere you can always see them. Remind yourself everyday why you are doing this, and what the goal is. Be sure to have your goals forever changing and growing. As you reach one goal, be sure to be ready to move on to the next. Its also OK to have several goals at once. Once you figure out what you want you’ll have to figure out “How you will get there?

6 Set Your Goals and Remind Yourself Every Single Day!
Recruit 1 person each month! Schedule at least 1 party each week. If you follow these suggestions, you just could surprise yourself. What do you have to loose?

7 Goal Worksheet When setting your goals, it is important to recognize your strengths and your weaknesses. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes. We all have things we wish we could do better. So one of your goals may be something you wish to improve on. IE- responding to your s is very important to your business. If you are not timely in doing this, you may loose a party, sale, recruit or let a team member down. Try to set a “goal” that you will reply to all s within 24 hours. Answer these questions. What do I want to do more of? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ What do I want to be better at? This is a sample of a goal worksheet. Ask your self some of these questions. Filling out a goal worksheet might be an easy way to figure out what direction you want to go in. A dream is a goal with out direction

Develop a Contact Database and Follow up Plan Make a list of everyone you know. Keep your monthly calendar, catalogs and business cards with you at all times. Open a Scentsy bank account Change your voice mail message to let people know you sell Scentsy and have a message pad by your phone. Make sure your contact information is on ALL literature you pass out. Get Organized Profit Files- Make file for each Hostess Contact Management System- Customer file, Team File, Consultants File, etc. Checking Account- open a separate Scentsy Checking Account Credit Card- Have a separate Scentsy Credit Card Account Binder for Packing Slips/Receipts- (section for Backordered Items and a section for damaged items.) Business Launch Party

10 Know Your Product People want to buy from knowledgeable consultants Study the catalog Make Recommendations to Customers Substitute product when necessary If you don’t know the answer be honest, find it and get back to them Learn the Combine and Saves to save your customers money! Knowledge is power the more you know the more you will sell and grow! Know what you are selling. Use the tools you have been given. You have the start up guide, your sponsor/director. Take advantage of the team page and the group of consultants you have at your finger tips, research your workstation

11 Sponsor Write a Great Story Move from Bothering to Blessing Have fun at your events Take only what you need to a party and “Wrap it Up” quickly Give your Hostess the Party and the Bookings if he/she joins that night. Don’t be afraid to Sponsor. Your Team will help you!!! Keep things simple. If you make your parties look hard, or difficult to duplicate you are sending a message to others. They will think to themselves they cannot do this, nor do that want to do something that adds so much complexity to their lives. When you keep things simple you send a message to your audience that they can do it, this is fun and so easy. That is all she did and she is making money for doing this? Recruits will start to approach you.

12 Ways to Market Scentsy Home Parties Basket Parties Personal Website
Fairs/Events/Shows, etc. Fundraisers for school, church, etc. Donation of items for local charities and not-for-profits Social Networking Displays – Dog groomer, hair dresser, Humane Society, etc. Brand yourself. Wear Scentsy clothing, carry Scentsy bags, get a car cling for your car. People will approach you and ask if you have a catalog, or if you can do a party, they may call you while they are driving behind you. These are all simple ways to get your name out there. Never leave home with out catalogs, brochures, and even samples. (on the team page there is a document with tips on how to make samples.) This is your business, make the most of it.

13 Follow the Rules Consultant Policies and Procedures - Retailing Policy - Scentsy Advertising Policy - We could spend hours going over the P&P my advice for all consultants is to read the P&P it is found in your resources tab, under Scentsy Inc Documents. They can seem a bit over whelming. If you have questions about them feel free to ask. If you are unsure of something before you do it, ask. Remember that there is a reason these policies are in place for a reason, if we do not fully understand the reason. I am more then happy to answer any questions with regards to P&P

14 Print Materials You may use the Scentsy Independent Consultant logo and trademarks on any item that you print on your own printer without limitation. You may NOT use the Corporate logo on anything. If you want to use an outside printer you can, but you must first get the design approved by Scentsy and then the printer must complete the LIMITED PERMISSION TO REPRODUCE SCENTSY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY form available on your workstation. You can buy preapproved marketing materials from Scentsy Success. I watch the site regularly for sale and clearance items. These policies listed are very important to know. Again you can find all this info in your resources tab. Anytime you are going to have Scentsy printed on anything, it MUST BE APPROVED. There is a form to fill out by the printer and sent to

Remember to keep all receipts for any supply you buy. * During your first 70 days you are eligible for a Power Launch discount. The tab for this is listed in the Scentsy Success website. The website is listed in your order tab, under Scentsy order.

16 You have a party booked so now what?
Scent Events You have a party booked so now what? Smile! The hardest part is done. Now you get to get things in order for a successful party. You are going to want to be sure to coach your hostess. Your hostess packets (we will see the contents on the next slide) Can be your outline for how to coach your hostess. *be sure you are in contact with her several times *what time of party would she like? Home or basket? If it’s a home party does she want to play a game or open house? You will need to be in touch with her to know what she wants. How many guests, does she have somewhere for you to set up (a table), *How much FREE product would she like to earn? Have her create that wish list ahead of time, so you can guide her in the right direction and tell her where her party sales need to be in order to get that FREE product. *Find a fun way to get bookings during that party, (booking bags) Have fun and keep it simple

Its like a scavenger hunt for her! You will see she will earn more if she is able to complete this.

19 The Online Party Create their party right away regardless of whether it is a Home or Basket Party. Use the evite system so they can market their party via , Facebook, Twitter, etc. Boost sales by allowing them to get orders from people who can’t attend. Guests who order online will pay for their order and it will be shipped directly to them. They will pay for shipping at the time of order. Be sure to show the party on your workstation. You always want at least one or two parties showing up on your website. Look busy and you’ll be busy! You can do a online party on its own,. But you should put all parties on your workstation before hand, so that people can order from your hostess party. There orders will ship before the party is even closed. If a customers orders from a party that is listed on your site, you will see in your order history PWS sale, making it seem like someone ordered from your site, but not the party. This is not the case. In order to see if the customer did order from a party you have to go into pending orders, then edit it, and go into the party details to see the order there. It will count in the hostess credit.

One of each product Catalogs for everyone Order Forms Scent Testers Extension cord Scent Ranking Sheets Calculator or Cheat Sheet New consultant packets Hostess Gift – Just because Scent/Warmer of the Month products and/or flyers Hostess Packets Calendar Tablecloth Money bag & some cash Door-prize Drawing slips Pens Coffee Beans Not everyone does door prize slips, if you do not want to, get each person to fill out the order from in FULL so you have their to enter in for your FREE newsletter that Scetsy send each month to our customers. Be sure to give out some prize for booking or a game. People love to get free stuff. Try NOT to make more then one trip into the hostess house. Remember keep it simple. If you have to make more then 1 trip (2 at most) then people are going to say WOW that’s a ton of stuff to have to lug around. You are sending simple signals through out your entire party, and this is a big one! You can have folder or clip boards made up with the catalog, flyers, order forms, and a wish list (scent ranking sheet) Give each Customer at your party- a Door Prize Slip, a Catalog, an Order Form, a specials flyer, a pen and a Scent Ranking Sheet

21 Product Setup and Display
No two displays are ever the same for me. It depends on the size of the area, number of guests, etc. But I always… Call the hostess a few days ahead and ask how many are coming and if he/she has a table. Get there at least a half an hour before the show to set up. Have my catalogs already “prepared” before I get there stuffed with everything they’ll need to sample the scents and order. Have at least one of every product to display. Warm a strong scent that will show how great Scentsy is! Spread testers throughout the room so they are easy to get to Place Host and Recruit signs throughout the room. Wear my Scentsy Recruit or Fundraiser button and my Scentsy Diva shirt Pass around a room spray and fragrance foam so they can try them out. Before I did this, I hardly ever sold them! * I have a small basket that has one of every scent on the go product in it. Pass the basket around so each person can see, touch and try our scents on the go products.

22 The Presentation KISS AND SHORT!!!
Be sure to cover Buy, Host, Join but… Long presentations not only bore guests, but actually sometimes make them angry! Happy guests are more likely to book a party Potential recruits will see it doesn’t have to take a lot of time to make $$$ You will make more money per hour Less food…something sweet and something salty to eat. Easier on the hostess and people will buy 40% more if there is less food to eat.

23 Payments At some point during the presentation, be sure that guests know that you can take credit cards. This will often bump your sales significantly. Cash Credit Cards: gather ALL information on Order Form plus the 3-digit code on the back of their card: VISA/Master Card/American Express/Discover. If they’re present have them sign the order form. Checks payable to you: Deposit right away & make sure there is a phone number on all checks! You may want to add a “return-check fee” to your price list in case you receive any returned checks (find out how much your bank charges you and then you can charge that amount to your customers if you have a problem)

24 What About Games? Whether or not you play games is entirely up to you. If you want to play…there are tons to choose from… The Scentsy Story Game Door prizes Balloon Game Match the Hostess Word Scramble Purse Game Or…make up your own  This is also found in your resources tab

25 Get Those Bookings! Offered a party but no takers? Maybe a little extra “Booking Reward” will help them decide Additional Free Product – i.e. Plug-in, 3-pack, Solid perfume, whatever you like. Extra Half price item. Hostess Never Pays Full Price Again. i.e. Once you’re a hostess, you always get 10% off Scentsy from you! Ask them to book when they bring you their order at the party. You would be surprised at how many say yes! You can create specials that are excusive to YOU, be sure to make that clear that a promo you are running is not a Scentsy promo but one offered though you!

26 After the Party Calculate Hostess Rewards based on product sales for the orders on hand and give the amounts to the hostess so she can shop for her rewards while you clean up. Use the time while you’re cleaning up to chat about the opportunity and do your best to recruit. Let them know what you made on the party and they’ll see just how easy it is. If they don’t join, set a date for the next party instead. Give the hostess a copy of the orders but be sure to take all orders and money with you when you leave. If for any reason the hostess does not close the party, you can still submit the party with what you have and fulfill guest orders. It doesn’t happen often but it does happen. This is another reason it is so important to have contact information for each guest. Thank the hostess again! All in all, it shouldn’t take more than a few hours start to finish.

27 Close the Party With any luck your hostess will do this at the party. But if not, don’t let it go too long. Close all parties within 1 week. The guests want their Scentsy and if the Hostess takes too long to close, they’ll get anxious and you’ll lose your reputation. Submit parties to Scentsy as soon as you close. Scentsy MUST ship your order within 10 business days.

28 Things to Note… A Party (Basket or Home), Fundraising or Fair and Show order must be $150 or more to be entered as a party and qualify for free shipping and hostess rewards. Only after you have $150 in product entered will hostess rewards be calculated and displayed at the left. Sales Tax: Calculate sales tax based on where the order will be shipped. For order shipped directly to the customer, be sure to charge the customer shipping. 10% of the order with a minimum of $ Add shipping first then sales tax. Review the order carefully while the guest is still there. You will avoid errors later when entering. Be you have contact information if there is a problem with their order. addresses are key to your success. If they have one, get it from them! Credit card amounts are held when you put the card information in the system not when the order is submitted.

29 Entering Orders Business Supply items can be added to a Party Order but not the reverse. The type of order you select in the system (i.e. Party, Basket, Fair, etc.) is for your tracking purposes only. Whichever you choose, the entry system remains the same. If a customer, or a few customers, give you orders that total $150 or more, enter them together as a party and keep the rewards for yourself. If you must submit an Individual Order, be sure to charge the customer shipping. 10% of the order with a minimum of $ Add shipping then sales tax. If you do not use the hostess rewards Scentsy will charge a $5.00 fee. At a minimum, order light bulbs as the half price item(s). You’ll avoid the fee and get something you’ll need for later. I ship all Party orders to myself whenever feasible so that I can include catalogs, specials, etc. in with the orders. It’s a little more work on my part but I get several parties booked after the customer receives their products. It’s well worth the effort.

31 Your Order’s Here! When an Order is received- Take Inventory and make sure there are no missing items, Check items for damage also. If something is missing or damaged contact Customer Service at (877) When you contact Customer Service make sure you include your name, your consultant id#, the party #, Guest # and item #...this will make it much faster for customer service to find your order and process your return. The Support Ticket system in your workstation is great. I prefer it because I then have a written record of my issue. Do not throw away a damaged item. Depending on the issue, Scentsy may send you a return shipping label. Scentsy does not replace items if a customer doesn’t like it. The item can be returned to Scentsy but either the consultant or the customer must pay for shipping. I have found it easier to just order what the customer wants and sell the item to someone else at a later date. Defective products will always be replaced and returned at no cost.

32 It’s in the Bag! Label everything! You never know when someone will pass the product on as a gift and you want that person to know who to contact to reorder. Put a catalog, host brochure, buy brochure and magnet or business card in every bag. If you’re offering a Booking Reward put something in the bag that tells them what it is. Put a note in the bag telling the guest how much the Hostess earned in Free and Half Price. This will lead to bookings after the event. Make your bags look pretty. A little extra effort and they’ll feel like they’re getting a present. Thank them for the order. A card or simple note on the order form goes a long way.

Be sure your contact information is correct Be sure all open parties are displaying. You control the layout.

34 Your Replicated Site is:
The only authorized way you can operate your Scentsy business on-line without an approved external website. The only way to allow customers to place an order and pay for it without dealing personally with you. If only one extra $40 order is placed on your site per month, the site fee will be covered in the commissions earned. The only way to have your name on the consultant locator on the Corporate Website The only way for new consultants to sign up with you immediately. If you do not have a replicated site, you must have your recruits sign a paper Consultant Agreement and send it into the office for processing. The only way to utilize some features of your consultant workstation, such as Evites and Event Management.

35 Editing Your Website

36 Your Newsletter Scentsy sends the newsletter automatically the first Wednesday of every month. Add every address you have to your Making Perfect Scents Newsletter database. Click on the Communication tab and then the Newsletter link at left. “Permission-based” newsletter, so before you add any s, you must be authorized to do so first. Once you start building up a good customer base, your customers will receive a very professional looking newsletter and will give the monthly product specials, what new things are happening, and if you want you can add your photo and message to personalize it. They can opt-out at any time Tracking results let you see who’s paying attention and what interests them most. If they clicked on the host link they’re a prime candidate for a party. If they clicked on joining they might be your first recruit.

37 Scentsy Fundraising!

38 Fundraiser Basics Great way to build a large customer base very quickly! Fundraisers are entered as a fundraiser party in your workstation. Hostess rewards are calculated exactly the same as any other party. Divide large fundraisers into smaller parties. i.e. A 1,000 party nets $150 in FREE and 4 half price items. The same fundraiser entered as two 500 parties gets the same $150 but 6 half price items! You give a percentage of your commission to the group or organization. You can give it all or just some. I give 20% unless they have over 2,000 then 25%. Scentsy offers fundraiser catalogs, order forms and envelopes. Or, you can use the current catalog and regular order forms. The fundraiser catalogs do NOT offer combine and save items. All items are individually priced. Since you don’t get paid until the 10th of the month following the month you submit the order I would suggest telling the organization that they will receive their payment on the 15th of the month. Take the cost of any business supplies you need out of the proceeds so you don’t lose money.

39 Special Events Use product you acquired from fundraisers and/or bundling to sell at events. More profit in your pocket! Holiday Craft Fairs, Church Bazaars, Ladies Night, Customer Appreciation, Catalog Launch Look for events that won’t break your pocketbook to get started. Some of the best events I’ve ever done are either free or very little to participate. Bring anywhere from 5-6 times as many bars or scents on the go as you do warmers. Holiday products sell fantastic at fall/winter events! You do not need your own Sales Tax ID. Scentsy will provide you with their certificate for display.

40 Scent/Warmer Subscriptions
Each month Scentsy offers a new “Scent of the Month” and “Warmer of the Month” at 10% off. As consultants, we can purchase these as a subscription. Either subscription can be purchased by consultants 15 days prior to the first of the month it is featured. You can start or stop either subscription in any month. Subscriptions are delivered in the month prior to launch so you have plenty of time for presales. The Scent or the Month - $35 1 Brick, 6 bars, 1 room spray, 1 party tester, 1 mini tester and 50 fliers. Scent/Warmer of the month - $60 Includes everything above plus the warmer! Both are well worth the money and best of all they are counted as PRV so you earn commission on them each month. A certified consultant is only paying a maximum of $45 for the Scent/Warmer subscription for product that totals $85!

Knowledge is Power The more you know the easier it is to… Sell Recruit Advance If someone asks how much they can earn but you don’t know how the compensation plan works they won’t feel comfortable talking with you about the opportunity. If they speak to someone else who does know, they will likely join under that person. This will definitely affect your ability to advance as you need to build a strong team to move up the Scentsy ladder. This is true with sales as well. If you don’t know the product and they attend a party with a consultant who does you might lose that customer. We are not entitled to customers. We have to earn their business!

45 Sponsoring “Are you at your wicks end? Do you feel burned out? With Scentsy you can never get burned out ‘cause all we do is warm you up!” If firing your boss and making Scentsy your full-time job is your goal then you will need to recruit. The funny thing is that you’ll likely recruit even if it isn’t your goal. It’s inevitable because people love Scentsy and when they see how easy it is they want to get involved. Keys to sponsoring Have fun at your parties Mention the Scentsy Opportunity No Less than 7 times at your Home Parties. Direct – As part of your presentation Indirectly – For example, by referring to an award you received or an upcoming incentive trip you’re working toward

47 FAQs How long will Scentsy Candle Bars last?
A. They will last a minimum of consecutive warming hours. However most Scentsy Bars have lasted longer. It varies with the strength of the fragrance. Q. How hot does the wax get when warmed? A. The wax will get to just above body temperature, so it won’t burn or harm anyone. Q. How do I clean the wax out of the warmer? A. While the wax is warmed and melted pour into a disposable container or original Scentsy bar plastic container. Wipe the inside of the warmer cup out with a paper towel or napkin and pop in your new Scentsy Candle Bar. Q. What wattage of light bulb does the warmer use? A. A standard 25watt in a full size warmer, 20 watt in a mid-size and 15 watt in a plug-in. All are small based light bulbs. Q. Does the Warmer come with a light bulb? A. Yes, all warmers include a light bulb with purchase. Q. How long can I leave my warmer on? A. As long as you feel comfortable leaving it on. Think of it as a lamp or nightlight.

Remember…No means not right now…it does not mean never. Talk to someone every day about Scentsy. Your hairdresser, child’s teacher, store cashier. Carry catalogs with you everywhere you go and hand them out freely! Party orders should be delivered to you so you can label every product and put marketing materials in the bag. Strive for at least 2-3 parties booked from every party you do. Offer the hostess extra rewards for tasks accomplished. i.e. invite 40 or more guests, get $400 in orders before the party, close the party the date it is held, etc. Do not be afraid to ask for the sale, the party, the order! Share everything you learn with your team and advise them to do the same when they recruit. Run your business like a business.
