Before you fly your paper airplane(later) you must explain in your science journal why your design will make it fly further. Our activity today is to play Math Vocabulary Match. For your morning work, I would like you to think of your favorite math word, write in on a note card with the definition. We will be sharing our favorite words and definitions at Morning Meeting. (My favorite math word is tessellation because I love repeating patterns).

Today I would like you to use a tape measure or ruler to measure the distance in centimeters between your wrist and the inside of your elbow. Record your answer on a Post it. We will look at the answers as mathematicians and scientists (mathetist or is it scientician?). As I said before, I love to play with words. How about YOU?
