4 Students receive explicit whole group instruction and are given independent practice time to read and write independently while I provide focused instruction to small groups and individuals for specific goals each child needs. Research supports the number one way to improve reading is to read!

5 Spelling tests on Friday – follows the phonics sequence in weekly stories First 75 High Frequency Words Words their Way – developmental spelling program they use during word work This is at each child’s spelling level.
