You will use your journals for these daily activities.
Instructions are in blue. What you need to write is in red.
At the beginning of class every day, write the date and draw a rectangle split into four sections, then label them like this:

3. How These Are Graded...
I will NOT be taking a grade on all of your notes.
I will, however, not be satisfied with you opting not to do these exercises.
Every Friday, you will have a VIEW Quiz. On these quizzes, you will be asked to work with these vocabulary words and apply the editing skills we’ve learned for the week. The grades on these quizzes will be averaged for one major test grade every six weeks.

4. How This Can Help You...
Every time that you correctly use one our VIEW words in class, either in speech or in writing (outside of daily VIEWs), you will be given a ticket.
You may redeem these tickets for classroom incentives:
20 tickets = 1 extra bathroom pass
30 tickets = 1 extra Catastrophe Pass
40 tickets = +2 on major grade of your choice
50 tickets = +5 on major grade of your choice
You may also earn tickets for finding VIEW words in editorials and other scholarly articles.
It is your responsibility to keep up with these tickets, and you may redeem them at any time before school, after school, or during tutoring.
