9 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training 1.Get to know the KECC, and get leadership involved  Seven Charities: 100% of gift goes to listed charities  90% of gift goes to write-in designated charities  Review the leadership strategy checklist in the handout, and use it to engage your office leadership throughout the campaign. 2.Recruit a winning campaign committee  1:50 ratio – review what makes a great volunteer  Remember: All Giving is LOCAL!

12 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training 3.Review past performance / Set an aggressive goal / Establish campaign plan and timetable  What worked well and what didn’t?  % participation; per capita giving; # of Leadership Donors; # of Cornerstone Donors  Set goal for your office  Campaign Kick-off: August 11 Statewide  Campaign Ends: November at the finale  Establish a 6 – 8 week time frame within these dates  Have each division /department establish their time table

15 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training 7.Make the campaign fun and exciting  This is your campaign, be CREATIVE!  Learn from your peers, KECC Blog 8.Give EVERYONE the opportunity to participate… and make a personal gift yourself!  Hold Campaign Small Group Meetings  Ensure everyone has the opportunity – this means everyone is asked personally!  Follow-up with those not attending

16 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training How to run an Employee Group Meeting: Prep Work:  Look ahead to find the best date, work with your Department / Division / Office leadership to schedule your group meeting around the best possible attendance.  Contact the Deby in the KECC administrative office to schedule a charity speaker (deby.davis@uwky.org).deby.davis@uwky.org  Give incentives to come, if it isn’t part of a mandatory meeting

19 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training 9.Monitor your progress, report your results and say THANK YOU!  Follow-up emails to coordinators weekly  Report progress to all donors weekly  Congratulate groups / Say thank you to groups as they finish  Field coordinators: Report your results and send completed materials to your lead coordinator.  Lead coordinators: plan to attend coordinator rallies at the Department of Aviation building on Airport Rd in Frankfort.

20 2015 KECC Volunteer Coordinator Training 10.Communicate about KECC and stay connected year round  Set up a process with your team to forward KECC newsletters to your whole Department / Division / Office. Make sure KECC news and success stories get to the people who need them – THE DONORS!  Make KECC part of the office year round. Set an annual calendar for events, use upcoming state and national holidays as themes, invite a charity rep, boost morale and interest in the campaign.
