3. Non verbal communication When people communicate they do not just listen to what is said to understand or give meaning to the message. They observe the person who is speaking to see what their body is doing and listen to the way they are saying the words.

4. Tone of voice Words can mean different things with different tone. Facial expressions A frown or a smile can make the message change.

6. Posture The way you stand or sit.

7. Remember cultural differences Eye contact Can be part of engaging, show you are listening, but also disrespectful, too much can be aggressive. Personal space Being too close or too far.
