10 Reading/Math Calendar / Please make sure that your child is reading and practicing math facts each night. / Students will get a BINGO card each month to fill out. 11 Multiplication Facts / Your child must have a firm grasp of his or her multiplication facts in order to be successful in math this year. If they do not you should begin working with them on these as soon as possible.

17 E and I Time / Enrichment and Intervention Periods: / Each afternoon from 2:45-3:15 the students will participate in Enrichment and Intervention activities designed to supplement the lessons learned in Reading and Math classes. These classes may be taught by the child's homeroom teacher, or by another teacher in the building. 19 Student Motivation  We use a “ Mystery Motivator ” system to encourage appropriate school behavior. When students are caught being good during the day their name goes into a drawing. That afternoon we will select a name from the drawing and that person will get the mystery prize for the day.

20 General Policies / Tiger Binders, Assignment notebook, AR book and other materials will be sent home daily. Please sign your name in the assignment book to show you have seen it and acknowledge that your child has completed his or her homework.

21 General Policies / We post homework assignments in the room and on our team webpage. It is the responsibility of the students to copy these assignments in his/her assignment book each day.

22 General Policies / Parents may also use this book to communicate with the teachers. Assignment books are checked for parent signatures each day. Students that do not have their assignment book signed 3 times during a week will lose recess on that Friday.

23 Infinite Campus / Once Infinite Campus is up and running, we will post large projects to the Family Calendar. For daily homework, please see our website.

24 Homework / Students will have homework nearly every night. Please prepare a homework routine/schedule for your child to follow. Aside from reading and math minutes, homework on weekends is a rarity.

25 BIRTHDAY TREATS / The Heritage Elementary school policy is that all Birthday treats should be non-food items. Please see the office with any questions regarding this matter. 26 Tests and Projects / We will be making every effort to avoid overlapping assignments that would require an excessive amount of work at home. Also, we will try to ensure that not more than one test, quiz or project will be scheduled on the same day.

28 Volunteer! / If you are available to donate some time, we would appreciate additional support throughout various times of the school year. We will give plenty of advanced notice when help is needed.

30 Behavior Management / We will be using a school-wide behavior management system throughout the year to maintain consistency and produce an environment that promotes learning for all students.  These set rules ensure that maximum learning can take place. That you follow school rules in the classroom, in the hallway, at lunch and at recess. 4. You are silent when I am talking and teaching. 5. 32 Behavior Management  In the classroom, we will be using a Behavior chart to monitor students ’ behavior throughout the day. Students will be given one warning prior to receiving any consequences.

33 Global Integration Team / We will have Global Integration Team on Mondays and Wednesdays each week from 1:15- 2:15. / We will also have Library one day a week. 34 Global Integration Team / This program will look different in each building based on the needs of the students. As we get to know your students, we will provide you with more information regarding the Global Integration Team.
