Motivation Relaying information regarding the physical condition of a given road Part of the “Wisdom Stone” project Taking it to the “next level” – Relaying the information.

The Overall System

“The Wisdom Stone” Small electronic devices placed under the roads in various places. Gathers information about the physical state of the road by means of sampling the vertical acceleration of the road while vehicles drive over. Each stone processes the information and relays it to the hub, who then relays it to the command center who determine if something is wrong with the road.

Project Goal Defining and building an electronic hub which will enable relaying the information gathered by the wisdom stones under the ground to a control center, and to maintenance it.

Maintenance The maintenance is basically a software written in the main of a wisdom stone placed in the hub which uses GPIO pins to determine the status of the phone, battery and solar panel charger. We would like to assure the hub and it’s components are working and their status without having to physically be there. The maintenance should be able to restart the cell phone in an event of software failure, other problems. The maintenance will receive a signal from the phone indicating it is on/off and will be able to turn the phone on/off remotely. The maintenance will receive a signal indicating the current battery level and another signal indicating the status of the charger.
