2. How to Use This CBT The following graphics are designed to help you to navigate through this Computer Based Training. 3. To Print this CBT If you would like to print this CBT: Return to the DCS web page. Right click on the link to the CBT and choose “Save Target As…” Choose a location on your computer to save the file and click OK. Go to Start, Programs, Microsoft PowerPoint. Choose “Open an Existing Presentation”. Choose the CBT file that you saved above. Choose File, Print from the menu. EXIT

4. Overview A child placement type called “In-Home” can be recorded for a client who is in DCS custody or Post Custody where the child is placed in an in-home environment that is non-payable and is not considered as a trial home visit. An ‘In-Home’ placement may be any type of home setting and the caretaker may be a person from many different roles including Church Member, Friend, God Parent, Legal Parent, Minister, Neighbor, Relative or Teacher. A client may be placed in a ‘In-Home’ placement regardless of the age of the client. EXIT

6. Placements Icon The user will double click on the Placements Icon located at the case detail line. EXIT

7. Adding an In-Home Placement To enter an ‘In-Home’ placement, right click and select ‘Add Placement Location’. EXIT

8. Add Placement Location The user will select ‘New Placement Location’ and click OK. EXIT

9. Add Placement Location The user will select ‘In- Home’ and click OK. EXIT

10. Select Placement Type The user will enter the date and select ‘In-Home’ from the placement type drop down list. EXIT

11. Select Significant Role The user will select the correct ‘Significant Role’ from the drop down list. EXIT

12. Select Client’s Caretaker The user will select the Client’s Caretaker from the list shown in the pop-up screen. EXIT

13. Previous Placement Program Completed The system will enter the Service Setting, AFCARS Setting, Location, Address and ID information. The user will Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ from the Completed drop down list. The user will then click OK. Please refer to the Discharge Reasons training document. EXIT

14. Completed In-Home Placement The placement is added to the client’s record. The user will also notice six additional tabs. These tabs are read only for the case manager. EXIT

15. Reports There are no reports specific to this placement type although many existing reports will report on this new placement type.

16.
