It is a mental disorder where the person is in low mood, a loss of interest in their hobbies, and becomes very sensitive towards everything. It is a serious condition that needs to be treated straight away, otherwise it will cause injuries to themselves and everyone around them. It is one of the most common health issues, where one in five people will experience depression in their lives.

5 Symptoms of Depression There are symptoms that easily demonstrates that people are under depression. They are: Loss of energy, feeling tired in any form. Feeling worthless, hopeless and feel guilty. Sleeping disorder, sleeping too much or not sleeping enough. Change in their appetite or weight. Feeling a mixture of emotions throughout the day, and cannot control them. If these symptoms last longer than two weeks, it is recommended that people see the doctor.

They usually have a low mood, self esteem and loss of interest or pleasure. Psychotic Depression- Depression that causes hallucinations and paranoia, feeling that everyone is against them. Bipolar depression- Formerly known as manic depression, the person have one more than mood and different amounts of energy levels without the symptoms of depression.

7 Diagnosis for Depression For a proper diagnosis for depression, they must see the doctor and they’ll ask questions such as: “When did the symptoms begin?” “ How long have you had those symptoms?” “Have the symptoms occurred before, and (how) did you treat them?” Then the doctor will ask the patient if they ever thought about death and suicide, also asking if one of their family members used to have it. The patient will also undertake an examination through their speech, thought pattern or see if their memory has been affected. Tests such as blood tests, x ray scans or lab tests cannot identify the mental disorder. Even scans such as the CT scan cannot help identify if they have depression. It is a very serious and dangerous condition.

8 Treatment for Depression Though a mental disorder, depression is curable through numerous treatments. Seeing a psychiatrist have been known to help cure this condition, undergoing therapy. Help lines also help, but people should not rely on it. It is common for people to try and cure this condition themselves by drinking or taking drugs, which makes things worse.
