9 Submitting and Updating IR Orders: The “Think” Icon Added a visual indicator that the server is actually processing the request

10 User and Admin Comments Boxes: Old information wasn’t being updated or removed New information appended to old is being missed Input only from accounts with admin access. Cleared when a new order is created, the same as the A# box.

13 Checking Scan Boxes Generate a PDF of your order from the Current Orders to check scan box coordinates and other information Use the NIROPS CDE KML to check scan box size and location

14 Create New Orders To create the next night’s order: Click on “create new order” under Options Edit order Click on “Submit as New”

15 Retrieving Archived Orders If you need to retrieve and submit an archived order as a new order Go to “Current Orders” Click on “Show Archived” Find your old order Click “create new order” Edit order Click on “Submit as New Request ”

16 Final (?) Items If you run into an Online Ordering issue Send me a detailed email, with a screen grab of the error if you can, OR, Call me, however, Support is NOT 24/7 Updates were pushed to the server in mid-April There will be some glitches, so as always, be patient

28 Halo Effect Recognize halo effect pixels by location, spatial arrangement Utilize color.tif to distinguish halo pixels from valid heat sources Remember that halo pixels will be included in Raw Heat Data and should not be mapped

29 Changes to NIFC FTP Site FTP.NIFC.GOV will be moving to a new server to address security concerns on June 1 st New site will have the same address i.e. ftp://ftp.nifc.gov/ Old username/passwords will no longer work All users will need NAP accounts for upload access

30 NESS* Application Portal (NAP) Account: FTP Access If you have a ROSS Account, you have a NAP account and password. If you don’t, request NAP access immediately: Request a NAP User Account After June 1 st, you will need a NAP account for IRIN work. *NESS = National Enterprise Support Service

32 2 Step Process Step 1- Request Application Access to F&AM FTP Enter Supervisor’s info here

33 2 Step Process Step 2- Send me an email with your NAP user ID (don’t send your password!) I will send an email to the helpdesk to grant you access to the IRIN user group IRIN user group includes read/write access to the 2015_Fires folder in NIROPS as well as write access to Incident_Specific_Data folders for all GACCs It may take a week or more initially to grant access You should get a notification email (?)

34 Starting June 1 st ……. Use your NAP user ID and password for access to NIFC FTP site Nirops and ISDMaster logins will no longer work Rules regarding ROSS/NAP passwords apply Renew password every 60 days After 90 days account is disabled ROSS helpdesk is 866-224-7677 Use of FTP client will be required for uploading and accessing restricted folders WinSCP, FileZilla, SmartFTP, and many others

35 Get Ready Make sure you are listed correctly as an IRIN or IRIN(t) in IQCS, ROSS, and on your red card Maintain contact with your GACC IR liaison – contact info, availability (nationwide vs. GACC, local) Make sure you have all necessary passwords To get into scanner form and IRIN Area on website For accessing Phoenix imagery in NIROPS folder on ftp site For posting IR products to Incident Specific Data folder on ftp site Base data, AFF, etc. NAP user account with IRIN group Track fire activity through activefiremaps.fs.fed.us Track IR activity through the scanner order page

36 Get Ready Be prepared Refresher materials at ftp://ftp.nifc.gov/NIROPS/Refresher Local base data, local license for ArcGIS (if possible) Good internet connection Be available, meaning….. Showing in ROSS as available Have approval & understanding of your supervisor Update scanner form as soon as you take an assignment with your contact info Contact incident to discuss communication & coordination, projection, product delivery, etc. Make sure you have an email for the incident
