3 Economic Impact –Employment for 1.6 million –Profits for hundreds of businesses –Revives depressed areas –1/3 of workers are 15–24 years old, compared with 15% in the general Canadian labour force. –1/3 of tourism workers attend school full-time. –The accommodations industry employs almost 3/4 of its labour force full-time. –51% of the labour force in the food and beverages services industry works full time. –Forty-two percent of the total tourism labour force has at least some postsecondary education.
