2 A collective noun is: A noun that names a GROUP of people or things EX. team, family, cast, audience, group
3 Singular Collective Noun The collective noun is singular when ALL members of the group are acting as ONE, SINGLE unit or group.
4 Examples of Singular Collective Nouns The team shares the field with its opponent.The drama club meets after school.Our class watches the volleyball match.
5 Plural Collective Nouns A collective noun is plural when the members of the group ACT SEPARATELY, or INDIVIDUALLY.
