3 Preparing New Door Unit
Remove shipping carton. Inspect unit for damage. Door has casing attached to one side of unit and is packed with pre-mitered casing for other side of door. Copyright © Texas Education Agency, All rights reserved.

4 Checking the Jamb for Plumb

Installing Shims                           To plumb door unit, insert wood shims between door jamb and frame on hinged side of door. Tap shims with hammer until level shows jamb is plumb. Copyright © Texas Education Agency, All rights reserved.

Nailing Jamb                    Gaps between jamb and framing at hinge and lock locations should be filled with shim material. Nail jamb to frame with 6d finish nails driven through shims. Copyright © Texas Education Agency, All rights reserved.

8 Completing Nailing Process

9 Installing Door Casing
