Welcoming New Students The first day of class sets the stage and mood for the remainder of the course. A sound orientation program is one of the best ways to prevent future student withdrawals. On the first day of school set the tone, establish rapport, review the standards, establish expectations, introduce the course, clarify course goals, answer questions, and teach.
