3 Rise to power While in prison Hitler wrote a book of ideas called “Mein Kampf,” which means “My Struggle.” After reading the book many people grew to love Hitler. (Propaganda) Rather than take control of Germany by force, he decided to win the people over constitutionally. Hitler reduced unemployment by giving them jobs in factories making weapons and military supplies. (Industrialization & Modernization) He wasn’t allowed to do this because of the Treaty of Versailles. 7 Impact on world In total, 70 million people died in the Second World War. He was responsible for killing 30-40% of the world’s Jewish population. When he died that wasn’t the end of his tyranny, anti-Semitism is still alive. Even though there is still hatred, the world united against him.

8 Many countries didn’t exist after World War II, such as the Czechoslovakia. Germany was then split in two between communism. This change remained permanent until the late 1980s, early 1990s, when the Soviet Union collapsed.
