What has JVA Done to Honor Our Mission to Date? In 2008, we sent two of our members over to Japan for two weeks to study youth volleyball training methods, how they train, organize practices, etc. Rich Zeciski and Tim Hardt visited a number of clubs, kept a journal and videotaped their experiences That information has been presented at the AVCA National Convention and put on a DVD that was offered for a limited time free of charge to our members. It is still available for $10 for JVA Member Clubs, $20 for non-member clubs. Volley Tots Program The current membership model of most junior clubs looks like a diamond and needs a larger base (pyramid model) to fund programs and facilities. The Volley Tots Program was developed with information on youth programs from around the world and consultation with early childhood specialists and psychologists. In the fall of 2008, we hosted the first Volley Tots Tour. Another tour is planned for this winter. Requests have come in from New York, Naples Fl., Milwaukee, WI, Portland OR. Tour stops will be announced in a few weeks. The current membership model of most junior clubs looks like a diamond and needs a larger base (pyramid model) to fund programs and facilities.
