2 Content Objective  I will judge the philosophical ideas of Thomas Hobbes and John Locke by justifying which philosophers beliefs have had a greater impact on history in a short constructed response.

4 Vocabulary!  John Locke: English political thinking and essayist of the 1600s. Developed a theory based on reason and Natural Rights.  Natural Rights: the rights of Life, Liberty and Property that humans are born with which should not be infringed upon by others or the government.  Self Government: Locke’s opinion of the best government; the precursor to Democracy.

6 The English Philosophers: Hobbes & Locke  Read about these two English philosophers and complete the descriptive bubble graphic organizer.
