4. Vocabulary!  John Locke: English political thinking and essayist of the 1600s. Developed a theory based on reason and Natural Rights.  Natural Rights: the rights of Life, Liberty and Property that humans are born with which should not be infringed upon by others or the government.  Self Government: Locke’s opinion of the best government; the precursor to Democracy.
