Student taught at McQueen in 1993 Began teaching here in 1994 Taught here from 1994 – 2007 Took a little break 2007 - 2010 Couldn’t stay away 2010- present Seventeen years at McQueen I teach Algebra, AP Statistics, and Trig. As long as I am teaching, McQueen is where I will be.

Assigned Daily Students Receive a 1, 3, or 5 1 = didn’t do at all 3 = did all but got less than 75% correct 5 = did all and got at least 75% correct It is so important to do homework daily in math. It is how students learn from mistakes and it prepares them for tests.

A homework pass can be used to turn in a late assignment for full credit. A hall pass can be used when the student needs to leave the room. If these passes are not used, they are worth extra points at the end of the semester.

This is the algebra 1 website where you can find all notes, worksheets, and assignments sheets. Please download Windows Journal Viewer in order to view the notes. You can also find my syllabus here. Especially helpful to absent students

Homework = 15% Quizzes = 15% Tests = 55% Final Exam = 15%

Students can earn math bucks for showing respect, being positive and attentive, etc. These can be turned into homework passes once five have been collected. If these are unused at the end of the semester, they can be turned in for extra homework points.

A list of tutors is available. Please grab one on your way out, if you wish. Please contact your child’s counselor for more support.

I teach because I believe this is what I was meant to do. I love the kids. I love my subject area. As long as I have this connection and passion, I will be teaching. I believe I can touch the life of each one of my students and I know that each one of them has something different to contribute to my classroom. I have a choice and my choice is to teach.
