 Once you or your customer have found an interesting course, you can go to the Ed2Go home page and request a passcode. A passcode allows you to register for the course for free. 5 ed2go

6 ed2go

7 You will see a “thank you” message that contains your passcode. You will want to write this passcode down – you will need it to register for your class.

8 If you write your passcode down wrong or forget to write it down, you should also receive an email like this containing your passcode.

9 Once you have found a course you are interested in you can take a look at the syllabus, the instructor’s bio, any requirements to take the class and read student reviews.

10 When you are ready to enroll in the course click “Enroll Now.”

11 Choose your Start Date and click “Continue.”

12 If this is your first ed2go class, you will create your account profile. Your username will be your email address and you will create a password.

13 Now you will enter your Passcode.

14 That’s it! You are now enrolled and can enter your classroom. Your first lesson will appear on the start date of your class.

15

16 Enter your active course to access your lessons. You can see the release date next to each lesson.

 Once a course begins, new lessons are posted every Wednesday and Friday.  Each lesson takes about 1-2 hours to complete.  There are a total of 12 lessons. 17 ed2go

18 Each lesson will be broken up into chapters and will include supplemental materials, a discussion area, a quiz and a link to download the lesson and/or print it.

19 Each chapter will take you through a lesson step by step and will include pictures, diagrams, screenshots, or other illustrated material to guide you.

20 At the end of each lesson, take the 5 question quiz. You will see which answers you get correct/incorrect and determine if you’ve understood and retained the information in the lesson. Your score on quizzes will not affect your final score in the course, they’re just for practice. You can take the quizzes as many times as you want.

21 Each lesson will also have an assignment which will allow you to build on the skills you learned during that lesson. Assignments are not graded, but they help you put the skills you learn to practice.

22 If you are struggling with a lesson or assignment, visit the lesson’s discussion area. Your instructor or fellow students may have a solution.

23 Each time you return to the Ed2Go site to access your lessons, you will need to log in to your account to enter your classroom. Click “Sign In” in the upper-right corner and enter your email and password.

 Check your course’s resources area for recommended reading if you want to learn more about the subject on your own. 24 ed2go

 When lesson 12 has been released you will be able to complete the course by taking the final test. Tests are “open book” so you can either print your lessons or simply have your lessons open in a separate browser as you take the test. 25 ed2go

 You can take the test as many times as you want but the first time you submit it is the only one that counts. There are about 40 multiple choice questions on the final test. 26 ed2go

 If you pass the final exam on your first attempt you will be able to download a certificate of completion! You can save the PDF to your computer and print it for your files. 27 ed2go

28 ed2go

 Don’t worry if you fall a little behind. There is a 2 week “grace period” in which to complete the final test.  Once the grace period has ended the classroom will close.  Fun tip: You can download each lesson and save it to your computer before the classroom closes (or print them) if you want to refer to the materials again in the future! 29 ed2go

30 ed2go  There are just over 100 Ed2Go classes that are LEU certified! Each class that is completed with a passing score on the final exam can earn you 20 LEU credits.

Questions about Ed2Go? 31 ed2go

 What is Freegal?  Freegal (rhymes with “legal”) is a service that allows you to download music that is free + legal (hence, “Freegal”). 32

33  Is it really free?  Yes, it’s really free! As long as you have a library card at a subscribing library, the songs you download are free to you as a member of the library.

34  What music does Freegal provide?  Freegal offers access to about 3 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists. In total the collection is comprised of music from over 10,000 labels with music that originates in over 60 countries.

35  How many songs can I download?  Freegal allows you to download 3 free songs a week. Your download counter resets every Monday morning so you can download more. x Week

36  Why only 3 songs a week?  Your library will select a subscription that allows for “x” number of song downloads per “x” amount of time. Once that download limit is reached, no one else may download until the new cycle starts. So limiting patrons to 3 songs a week ensures that everyone gets a fair and equal chance at downloading.

37  Can I keep the songs?  Yes – every MP3 is yours to keep. You can load your songs in iTunes, Windows Media Player, put them on your MP3 player, or even burn them onto a CD. You can also use Freegal on your iOS or Android device with the Freegal app!

38 Once you follow your library’s links to Freegal, you will be prompted to enter a library card number and a PIN and click LOGIN.

39 Once you are logged in you can search for songs by Artist, Song, Album or Composer. You can also click “A to Z Artist Browsing” to browse all artists in the catalog.

40 You can click “Genre” to browse by genre.

41 You can explore featured albums, the library’s top 10 downloads, the national top 100, or the top genres.

Let’s explore the music catalog and download a song! 42 ed2go
