The ADDIE Model Instructional Design presented by Roberto Camargo

2 What is the ADDIE Model? An instructional design model
Designed to guide in the formation and assessment of instruction or training Commonly used by instructional designers and training developers Consists of five steps Each step leads into the next (Addie Model, n.d.)

3 ADDIE Contains Five Phases
Analysis – Identify goals and learning objectives Design – Plan a strategy for accomplishing the goal Development - Create the course content Implementation – Deploy the training Evaluation – Measure how well the training works (Brown, A., & Green, T. D. 2011)

4 Analysis ANALYSIS PHASE Developer clarifies and identifies…
Target audience Current knowledge Goals and objectives Desired behavioral outcome (Instructional Design: The ADDIE Model, n.d.) Use multiple points, if necessary. Analysis

5 Design DESIGN PHASE Developer plans and strategizes…
Learning objectives Content and subject matter Lesson plans Selects media and means of instruction Plans and strategies need to be executed with attention to details. Use multiple points, if necessary. Design

6 Development DEVELOPMENT PHASE
Developer creates and puts together the content according to the details in the Design phase. (Brown, A., & Green, T. D. 2011) Development Use multiple points, if necessary.

7 Implementation IMPLEMENTATION PHASE Designed plan is executed…
Process for training is developed Ensure instructional material and equipment are available and functional Instruction is delivered Use multiple points, if necessary. Implementation

8 Evaluation EVALUATION PHASE Consists of two phases…
Formative evaluation – allows for feedback and understanding during the different steps of the process. Summative evaluation – tests designed for specific criteria and presents opportunities for feedback from users (Instructional Design Models and Methods | Instructional Design Central. n.d) Use multiple points, if necessary. Evaluation

9 Evaluation EVALUATION PHASE
Based on the evaluation, modifications are made to improve the process. Analysis Design Implement Develop Use multiple points, if necessary. Evaluation

10 SUMMARY The ADDIE Model… An instructional design process
Contains five phases that lead from one to the other Design Development Implementation Analysis Evaluation (Instructional Design: The ADDIE Model n.d.) The ADDIE Model is designed to guide the process of creating and evaluating instruction.
