2. About Beethoven Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. His best known compositions include 9 symphonies, 5 concertos for piano, 32 piano sonatas and 16 string quartets.

3. Beethoven was taught piano at a very young age, and continued to be taught by different teachers, one of them his father. 4. Loss of Hearing In roughly 1796, around the age of 26, Beethoven began to lose his hearing. He suffered from a “ringing” is his ears, making it hard for him to hear music. His hearing slowly deteriorated after this point, but he continued composing many different music pieces
