3. Why is it irregular? Venir is irregular because it is a stem-changing verb AND it has an irregular yo form! What is a stem-changing verb? A stem-changing verb has a spelling change in the stem!

4. What is the stem of a verb? The stem of a verb is the verb minus the –ar, -er, or –ir ending. EX: venir ven = stem -ir = ending

5. Stem-changing verbs are verbs that have a change in how the stem is spelled when they are conjugated. They are also referred to as boot verbs (Because the forms inside the boot change, and the ones outside the boot do NOT stem-change)!

7. First, we need to find the verb stem. To do this, we drop the –ar, -er, or –ir off of the infinitive. venir Next, we will change the e to ie in the verb stem. Then, we add our regular endings for present tense.
