3 Irregular Verbs Irregular Verbs do not form the past and past participle by adding d or ed. They just have to be memorized. Charts on pgs. 156 and 158 and on worksheets 36-37

4 Subject-Verb Agreement Singular subjects use singular verbs Ex. Jack robs liquor stores (s on the verb) Plural subjects use plural verbs Ex. Bonnie and Clyde rob banks (no s on the verb) -- I uses am and was. Ex. I am happy today. (present) I was happy yesterday. (past) -- He, she, it, and singular nouns use is and was. Ex. She is the captain. (present) The game was close. (past) -- We, you, they, and plural nouns use are and were. Ex. We are teammates. The boys were helpful.
