How does it Work? Local Scholarships will be listed in Naviance under College Tab, Scholarship List. As scholarship information comes in, applications will be posted in Naviance. Check the list weekly for updates. There are two types of applications. 1. Common Local Scholarship Application, which you fill out once, attach documents, and then copy the completed packet for as many scholarships that utilize the Common Local Scholarship Application or 2. Custom Scholarship Application, which as it implies, is unique to that organization. To be considered for need based scholarships you must submit the SAR of the FAFSA this is printed after you file your FAFSA. Adhering to all deadlines is crucial! Don’t just assume you won’t get something

Important Notes Request transcripts via Naviance College Tab under the left side link “Request Transcripts”, Click on Scholarships. (Allow 48 hours for guidance to prepare) Don’t take yourself out of the mix by not completing applications or by missing deadlines Time management so that it is not a stressful process KRHS Guidance can help, but is NOT responsible for mailing out scholarship applications. This falls on the student.
