July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 3 Tab Annotation The ability to annotate tabs has been added with Version 8.0. Once a tab has been inserted, switch to Page View and double-click the tab to open the Tab Label window.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 4 Tab Annotation In the Tab Label window you can add text for the label with full control over: text orientation font and font attributes where text appears on the tab

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 5 Tab Annotation As you type and make changes to the font attributes and position of the text on the tab, the tab image updates to show you exactly how the tab will look – no surprises at print time. Tip: Tab label text can be created on multiple lines - simply press Enter on the keyboard when you want to start a new line. See the online help system for more information.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 6 Backup and Restore Workspace The ability to backup and restore the FreeFlow Express to Print workspace has been added to this version of the software. Available from the File menu, select Backup Workspace to begin the backup process. Taking only a few moments, the process backs up all the Express to Print settings into a Zip file. Files backed up include: Optimization Profiles Templates Configuration files Registry settings Printer list Express to Print log files

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 7 Backup and Restore Workspace Restoring the FreeFlow Express to Print workspace is simply a matter of selecting Restore Workspace from the File menu and locating the backup file you want to restore. The backup and restore process ensure that in the event that there are any problems with your computer, you can quickly re-establish all the settings for Express to Print.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 8 New Template / Document Types New with this update are two additional sets of templates / document types aimed at the K- 12 and Legal markets.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 9 New Template / Document Types When you installed Express to Print Version 8.0 you were given the option of loading these new templates / document types into the standard set of templates / document types. If you did not add them at installation time, they can be added by selecting Options > Document Types. From the Document Types Manager select any templates / document types that you want to add to the current set in Express to Print and click OK. Tip: You can reorder the list of templates / document types by selecting the name and using the up and down arrows.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 10 Improved Conversion Options The Preferences window, available by clicking Options > Preferences, is now split into three tabs. The first tab, Conversion Options, controls the Conversion Profile to be used by Express to Print and the options for conversion. Note the types of files that can be converted. See the online help system for more information.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 11 File Output Options The second tab, File Output Options, controls the processing options to be used on the output file. This includes PDF Optimization and Automatic Image Enhancement See the online help system for more information.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 12 Hot Folder Options The third tab, Hot Folder Options, allows you to enable automatic hot folder file submission and to establish the location of the hot folder. All supported files that are placed in the hot folder will automatically be sent to Express to Print and subsequently removed from the hot folder. Files added to the Hot Folder are processed on a first-in-first out basis. See the online help system for more information.

July 2009 (Press Esc on the keyboard to exit) Page 13 Express To Print Virtual Printer For files that cannot be natively converted to PDF from within FreeFlow Express to Print, a virtual printer – Express To Print – has been created for Version 8.0. Open the file in the program that created it. When you want to send the job to FreeFlow Express to Print, select Express To Print as the printer. The job is converted to a PDF and then sent to the Hot Folder where FreeFlow Express to Print detects it and places it in the Document Table. See the online help system for more information.
