2 Should Muslims be feared?

3 Timeline On August 16th, 2006, British passengers on board a flight from Malaga to Manchester requested that two Asian men would be removed from the plane. According to a spokesman for the Civil Guard in Malaga, these men had aroused suspicion because of their appearance and the fact that they were speaking in a foreign language thought to be an Arabic language, and the pilot was refusing to take off until they were escorted off the plane. On November 21, 2006, six Muslims were removed from a US Airways flight at Minneapolis St. Paul International Airport. This event led to an outcry from Muslim organizations in America saying that what happened showed the increasing prejudice acts against Muslims in America. On August 25, 2010, a New York taxi driver was stabbed after a passenger asked if he was Muslim. In April 2012, the media reported that the Joint Forces Staff College taught an anti-Islam course. In September 2012 the group Stop Islamization of America, which has been labeled a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center, ran advertisements in the New York City subway which said, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad." British ministers had been criticized in October 2006 for helping to "unleash a public anti-Muslim backlash".

8 Arguments For Islamophobia:
Evan DeIacova states: “I would be for it because I feel that they should stay out of our country because they have their own. From past experiences in the United States such as 9/11, I don’t think that they are worthy of being able to come into our country.” Against Islamophobia: Gabe Mueller states: “I believe that even though they are from a different part of the world and have different religious views, we shouldn’t be scared of them.” Matt Schwartz states: “I don’t think Muslims should be feared. I don’t think all of them are trying to kill us.”
