1 Route California By Lidia Pacelli

2 Mountains California is home to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. The tallest mountain in California is Mt. Whitney, which is 14,505 feet tall. Most of the melted snow from the mountains goes into the lakes at the base of the mountains and flows in the the rivers.

3 Lakes California has many different lakes. The larger lakes being, Lake Tahoe, Mono Lake, and the Mammoth Lakes. All of the lakes in California play a role in the economy, feeding the plants and animals around its environment. The lakes also play a role in the everlasting drought in California giving water to its near by cities.

4 Rivers California has many small rivers, some of the larger ones are the Sacramento River, the Colorado River, and the San Joaquin River. Many of the rivers in California flow from the mountain ranges down to the Pacific ocean where they end. Some species of fish are known to swim up some of the California rivers to lay their eggs during the summer moths.

5 The Coast California has the largest coast line in the U.S. Is bordered by the Pacific Ocean. One of the major sources for the California is the coast because it makes the state easy to get to by boat. Filled with many different marine animals, sea lions being the most popular found on the beach. The climate on the coast is much warmer year round then inland.

6 California Climate Coast Summer- warm days and mild nights. Winter- mild winters with most rainfall between the months of Jan- April Inland Summers- hot summers normally in the 90’s with mild nights Winter- cool temperatures normally lower than costal temperatures. Monutains Summer- very hot normally, with cooler nights then near the coast. Winter- snow on most of the mountains, with mild cold days, and cold nights.
