1 WELCOME PROPOSED PERSONAL ACTION PLAN Drona KC PEWSP Nepal

2 Objective To prepare a detail Strategic Plan of PEWSO Nepal through participatory approach as a learning organization Needs of Strategic Plan  PEWSO Nepal has no systematic participatory plan with its clear vision, mission and strategies.  Effective strategic planning is a milestone of PM&E and success of project/program (learning from this course) Duration: Mid of March to December 2004

Donor/Partn er organization Donor want to see effective utilization of their support for positive impact  Inception meeting & share the key lessons  Discuss the gaps in relation to PPM&E & highlight the needs of effective planning Staff Members Key persons of program implementation  Involve during debriefing  Staff meeting and work division for planning Community people (from disadvantag ed groups)  Main beneficiaries  Interested to receive better services  Invite representatives from various interest groups e.g. IGA, women development, drinking water, non-formal education etc.  Encourage their active participation

5 Constraints/problems  Financial problems  Feeling of increasing workload of the staff member  Question on the active participation of the all stakeholders  The present political situation of Nepal Effort to overcome the barriers/problems  Prepare a proposal and sell/submit to donors  Orient the staff member on PPM&E and motivate them  Involve the stakeholders in all levels of discussion and encourage their participation  Motivate the stakeholders through highlighting the importance of their active participation and minimum allowances as compensation to the community people

8 The key evaluation questions  How is the planning process going on?  Is the concept paper and funding proposals well prepared?  Are the resources properly utilized?  Is the planning process going on according to the operation plan?  Are the stakeholders actively participating in the planning process?  What are the major issues and concerned arising?  How are the issues being handled? What are the corrective measures?
