6 With the app store you can download many different applications just for the iPad. If you are teaching about Jamestown, there is an app for it. The app store has many educational games and well as educational lessons. App Store

7 The iBook is an app that you can download from the app store. With the iBook app you can download books and read them right from your iPad with the tip of your finger. iBooks

8 You have a test tomorrow and you need to take notes, the notepad is at your finger tips, take out your iPad and start typing. Notes

9 Need Students need a notebook, this is the notebook of the future. E-books at the student’s finger tips. Podcasting in just seconds. Videos on demand. E-mail within seconds Students no longer have to have many different devices they need just one.

20 Right now the Apple’s iPad is the only tablet of its kind, but there are other companies working to develop a tablet, some of these companies are Dell, Rim and Microsoft. A big question about the iPad will it replace the PC, this is yet to be seen. Threats

26 Develop a need for change- The media specialist starts change by pointing our new innovations that can create a more learner center classroom.

27 Establish am Information Exchange Relationship- Once the need for change has been created, then the media specialist can begin the process of change.

28 Diagnose Problems The key staff members will determine why the existing program is not working and we need change.

29 Create an Intent to Change the Client The key staff members and media specialist will develop an action plan to help interest grow in the use of iPads in the classroom.

30 Translate an Intent into Action Media Staff and Key players begin to build support groups to begin using the iPad while allowing time to teach staff how to incorporate the innovation.

31 Stabilize Adoption and Prevent Discontinue Media Specialize and technology members plus key members reinforce those members that have incorporate the new innovation

32 Achieve a Terminal Relationship Key members incorporate training and support so new members become self sufficient.

33 Critical Mass Critical Mass occurs at the point at which enough individuals in a system have adopted an innovation so that the innovation’s further rate of adoption becomes self-sustaining. Rogers 2003, page 363

34 Defining the Need Action and reaction ebb and flow, trial and error, change-this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over confidence, fear, our of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope and progress.
