Teens who use drugs may not stick to their decision to practice abstinence. Teens who use drugs have a higher risk of being in a situation where they may be sexually assaulted. In addition, teens who are drug dependent may have sex as a way of getting drugs. Alcohol and drugs can reduce your ability to rationalize and think clearly. Drugs and alcohol can also make you less aware of the consequences of your decisions. Sometimes, teens will become prostitutes because of their addictions. Prostitution is the illegal exchange of sex for money or drugs. Teens who use drugs are more likely to justify their wrong sexual behavior by using the excuse: “I was on drugs” The most recommended thing for teens to do is to practice abstinence. This prevents even the slightest chance of becoming pregnant.

Most teens don’t think things through before having sex. You can see the negative effects of teen pregnancy here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1gri3aL9 nU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1gri3aL9 nU

What is HIV/AIDS? -HIV/AIDS is a type of STD that is fatal. HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus and AIDS stands for Acquired Immunodeficiency Virus. How does HIV work once it enters the body? -Once HIV enters the body, it immediately begins to attack the T cells near it. While it does this, it begins to reproduce, too. Each spawn attacks more and more T cells until it weakens the body’s ability to fight infections. Treatment -There are a few types of medicines that can be taken to slow the process, but no cure has been found yet.

Teens who are addicted to injection drugs may unknowingly share an infected needle. This needle may have infected blood on it that could be transferred to another person, which could give them HIV. Avoid being in an unsafe situation by staying clean. To learn more about the impact of drugs on HIV: http://aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/ prevention/reduce-your-risk/ substance-abuse-use/

The most important part of this lesson is to use abstinence skills to keep from using drugs. They have so many bad influences that can change your life FOREVER.

Teens who use drugs are less likely to be in control of their thoughts and actions, potentially leading to unwanted pregnancy or a life-changing disease. The best things for a teen to do is to not do drugs or drink alcohol, and to practice abstinence.
