 The rules pertaining to student conduct will be enforced at all times. Students are expected to act in a way that befits a Loyola gentleman. Food or drink is never to be brought into the classroom. Students are expected to arrive to class on time, and those improperly dressed will not be admitted. In this classroom, RESPECT is the key word. Every action you do or word you say affects each and every one of us.

 Check FA WEB every night  All writing assignments must be typed unless permitted by teacher  Technical difficulties are never an excuse for a missed assignment (write it down in your planner)  Assignments will not be accepted via email unless permitted by the teacher  Cases of academic dishonesty will result in a zero for that assignment

*Tests usually follow the completion of two or more chapters.  *Each assignment given will be worth a certain amount of points. At the end of each quarter, the number of points earned will be divided by the number of possible points. This percentage grade will be compared to Loyola’s grading scale in order to determine a letter grade.  *Class preparation and participation can raise or lower a student’s grade.

 HW and other written assignments on time and typed  One day late = half credit  Two days late = 0  Quizzes: approximately twice a week  Tests usually after 2 chapters (1 unit)  Absences  Policies

 *Students are responsible for all work that is missed!!  *Any student who does not submit an excused absence note from the Assistant Headmaster for Student Personnel will receive a 0 (zero) on any missed test or quiz.  *Any student who misses class because of service, retreat or athletics must check with the teacher prior to the absence. If the student is excused from class he is still responsible for any work that he may miss.  *These excused absences are not excuses for being unprepared for class.

 Extra assistance is available at the students’ request. When he is not teaching (periods 1,4,5 & 8) he can usually be found in the History Department office on the 2 nd floor of Burk Hall. If you need to contact me from off campus my direct dial phone number is 443.841.3274 and my e-mail is mdelgaudio@blakefield.loyola.edu

 A good deal of work is put into the appearance of the classroom by a number of different people. Writing on furniture, dropping of trash etc. will result in detention.  There is absolutely no eating or drinking allowed in the classroom without the permission of the teacher.

 The History Department has set the following guidelines for admittance into US History in the 10 th grade. In order to be placed in US History Honors, students must maintain an A average, 93 or above, during their 9 th grade year in World History. Students earning an A- or lower, 92 or below, will be placed in standard US History for their 10 th grade year.

 Honor Statement: As a member of the Loyola Blakefield community, I will act with integrity in all my endeavors as I seek to know, love, and serve God. I will speak truthfully and act in a manner appropriate for the occasion. I will respect the property of the school and of community members. A Loyola Don does not lie, cheat, or steal and discourages those that do
