Knights and Chivalry The life of a knight was thought to be romantic, but in reality, it wasn’t. Armor was hot and heavy and battles were bloody. In addition, the code of chivalry was difficult to uphold consistently. Also, some knights were just bullies who preyed on the weak and helpless.
