I hate the word, As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee:” Act 1 Scene 1 – Romeo & Juliet This brief but fiery exchange reveals much about Benvolio & Tybalt. Answer the following questions using words from the text to prove your analysis. 1)Who wants peace and who hates peace? 2)How does Tybalt feel about the Montagues and Benvolio? 3)What do you predict might happen between the two men? (make an inference or prediction based on the text and what you know about the story).

Exit Slip – Super CEL Paragraph “Do you control your own fate, or does fate control you?” Choose a side and write a CEL paragraph based on your argument and the quote above.  Claim – State your claim based on the question.  Evidence – explain your evidence  Link – Explain how your evidence is linked to the claim Side 1: I control my own fate because…. Side 2: No one can control their own fate, because fate controls everyone.
