Task 2: Watch Romeo & Juliet Act 1 Scene 1 on youtube.com at this link: https://www.youtube.com/w atch?v=079_iKX9VVI TASK 3: Read Act 1 Scene 1 of Romeo & Juliet 1.Make a character list of all the people in Scene Task 4 - Translate 4 lines from Act 1 Scene 1 with the Shakespeare translator. Choose any 4 lines of dialogue and translate them using the Shakespeare Translator. Task 5 - Create a storyboard that has one (1) quote per panel. You must have the following panels for Act 1 Scene 1 1)Sampson & Gregory talk trash 2)Sampson & Gregory pick a fight with the Montagues. 3)Benvolio breaks up the fight. 4)Tybalt fights Benvolio. 5)The Prince stops the fight and warns them to cease the fighting on pain of death 6)Montague asks Benvolio about Romeo. 7)Benvolio speaks to Romeo & discovers Romeo is ‘love sick.’ INDEPENDENT STATION FINISHED??? 4 Exit Slip – Translate the Lines BENVOLIO: “I do but keep the peace, put up thy sword Or manage it to part these men with me.” TYBALT: “What, drawn, and talk of peace! I hate the word, As I hate hell, all Montagues, and thee:” Act 1 Scene 1 – Romeo & Juliet This brief but fiery exchange reveals much about Benvolio & Tybalt. Answer the following questions using words from the text to prove your analysis. 1)Who wants peace and who hates peace? 2)How does Tybalt feel about the Montagues and Benvolio? 3)What do you predict might happen between the two men? (make an inference or prediction based on the text and what you know about the story).

5 Exit Slip – Super CEL Paragraph “Do you control your own fate, or does fate control you?” Choose a side and write a CEL paragraph based on your argument and the quote above.  Claim – State your claim based on the question.  Evidence – explain your evidence  Link – Explain how your evidence is linked to the claim Side 1: I control my own fate because…. Side 2: No one can control their own fate, because fate controls everyone.
