2 Act 1 Scene 1 Setting: A street in Verona Character(s): Sampson, Gregory, Abram, Benvolio, Tybalt, Officer, Lord Capulet, Lady Capulet, Lord Montague, Lady Montague, Prince, Romeo External Conflict: Montagues and Capulets are two families that do not get along Internal Conflict: Romeo is in love with a girl that doesn’t love him back. Complication(S): Prince tries to stop feud by declaring that the next person that starts a fight will die. Benvolio tries to help Romeo by encouraging him to look at other girls. Summary:

3 Act 1 Scene 2 Setting: A street in Verona Character(s): Lord Capulet, Paris, Servant, Romeo, Benvolio External Conflict: Paris wants to marry Juliet, but Lord Capulet wants to wait. Internal Conflict:Lord Capulet does not want to rush his only child into marriage. Romeo is in love with Rosaline, but she will not marry him. Complication(s): Lord Capulet encourages Paris to try to “date” Juliet and then he will permit the marriage. Benvolio and Romeo will crash the Capulet party to get Romeo to think about other chicks.
