4 What We Do… Support academic and administrative users. Support approximately 425 staff, 180 faculty and 3500 students. Maintains computing labs and group study rooms at Harper Center, Gleacher Center, Singapore and London locations. Provides Help Desk support for student computing services. Broadcasts critical alerts, warning messages and updates to the entire Booth community.

5 Computing Resources Available Computer Labs Open the same hours as the building. The labs are staffed for certain periods of time. A phone located in the lab directly connects users to the Help Desk. City Front Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – Midnight Saturday – Sunday 7:00 AM – Midnight  Lab – Room 110 –30 PCs, 2 Local printers, 3 Network printers,1 scanner terminal –4 Research terminals: Bloomberg, DataStream and IFS  3 Fisher Library PCs  28 Group Study rooms

9 Accounts Labs E-mail – Quota 1 GB Portal P Drive – Quota: 1 GB Accellion File Sharing Service Research Grid  Running large empirical/statistical and computational jobs  Accessing software packages such as STATA, SAS, MATLAB, etc. Passwords  Self Service password resetting on the portal Printing  No quota for XP students. Email Alias  Self claim an email alias Wireless Networking N-Radio Compliant only VPN Personal Web Page – 10 megs Home.uchicago.edu Chalk Passwords http://cnet.uchicago.edu.http://cnet.uchicago.edu Self Service Password reset. 10 Connecting to Resources Connectivity software is already on your computer  Visit the Computing Services website via the Portal for more information on Help Guides for :  Access to the VPN.  How to use and access the Research Grid.  Set up a connection to the Wireless network.  How to set up Wireless printing. ITS Connectivity package  A connectivity package with free Antivirus and Firewall is available online at http://security.uchicago.edu/.http://security.uchicago.edu/
