6 REVOLUTIONARY WAR The United States fought England in the Revolutionary War. They wanted to be an independent country. The Revolutionary war was from 1775- 1783.

7 SOLDIER George Washington was a soldier during the American Revolution. George Washington was a leader.

8 NEW COUNTRY The United States won the war with England. The United States became a country in 1776!

9 GEORGE WASHINGTON George Washington was the first president of the United States. He was president from 1789-1797. He is called the Father of Our Country.
