3 Objectives Students will be able to identify the differences between “a-g” subject requirements and MHHS graduation requirements. Students will be able to explain the “next steps” of course selection.

5 FACTS YOU MUST KNOW Mission Hills High School To graduate you need 230 credits, have passed at least Algebra 1, pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) 5 credits = 1 semester class An “F” grade = 0 credits All grades are permanently on your transcript. Minimum 2.0 GPA required for sports, work permits, etc.

11 HUMANITIES English and History English Language Arts Social Science Big History (H) Unlinking Humanities – SMUSD strongly recommends that you still take the same level courses. For example, both college prep or both Honors.

14 PHYSICAL EDUCATION Every 9 th grader takes General PE If you are in Marching Band, you will not need to circle PE (Four years of Marching Band is needed to count for 20 credits of PE.)

15 BIOLOGY Life Science Every 9 th grader will take a Life Science Biology (P) or (H) Biology with Medical Emphasis

16 WORLD LANGUAGES Check box if you are a “Native Spanish Speaker” At least 2 years of the same world language for college purposes “C” or better in the second semester to move on to the next level
