5. Students need to bring every day Stationery : pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, pencil sharpener. Planner: ALL home learning must be written in. Any notes can be written in here. Signed by parents on a Thursday night (weekly) A reading book: part of the school’s literacy programme (to promote reading)

6. Absence and Punctuality If your child is absent through illness or any other reason please email Mrs Grote: fgr@goffs.herts.sch.uk You also need to write a note into your child’s planner.

7. Punctuality Students need to be: – through the school gates by 8:25am – In lessons ready to learn by 8:30am – Need to make sure they get to all lessons on time If students are late once in week they will be kept behind on the day of their lateness for 15mins with me If they are late twice or more in a week they will serve a 1 hour detention on the following Monday

8. Communication As a school our main way of communicating is through email If you have not received any emails from the school then can you please give me your email address before you leave.

9. Student Council Each form has elected two student reps, 1 girl and 1 boy. They will represent their form in a year 7 student council. Students will get the opportunity to ask their reps to raise an issue when the council meet. Form reps will feedback the discussion of the council to the form.

10. Student Parliament Students from the student Council put themselves forward for the Student Parliament 2 reps were voted for by the rest of the year group and will now represent the whole of year 7 in the Student Parliament (year 7-13)

11. Additional Educational Needs If your child has any Additional educational needs and you have concerns or questions please contact Mrs Pressney: spr@goffs.herts.sch.uk

12. Home Learning Each piece of Home Learning needs to be written into planners. Each piece of Home Learning should take 40 minutes. Students should write down the task and when it is due in (and hand it in on time).
