I am happy to talk to you about your child at any time. However, out of respect to my other students’ privacy, I don’t discuss student’s progress when I have other students in the classroom. If you wish to discuss your child’s progress, please or call to schedule an appointment.

5. Third graders are expected to read 20 minutes each night in a book of their choosing.
Please encourage your child to read daily, and ask questions about what he/she is reading!
Students are also expected to complete a practice math sheet.. The practice sheet will be about the concept for that day.
Students will have a planner that will have ALL homework assignments in for that day!

7. We eat lunch at 12:50 and I find the students are very hungry by this time. I am asking that each parent send a snack to share with the class once a month, if possible.

Our classroom will use lots of technology! Students will use all of the technology available to us throughout the year to expand their knowledge of technology and how it can be used constructively in our daily lives. Students will create PowerPoint presentations, Google Slides, Animoto, WeVideo, complete online research, and more throughout this year!

Reading is a very important aspect of your child’s education. We will not be using A.R. this year. I am for a different program that will help me keep track of their reading and their reading progress. I will be be giving you more information soon!

14. Students will be attending Art, Library and Computers once a week
Students will be attending Art, Library and Computers once a week. They will also have Music/PE everyday.
I will be teaching the computer class. They will be working on a program called EduTyping for the first three months, along with learning Google Slides, Animoto, WeVideo and possibly a couple other programs if time permits.

15. We love to celebrate birthdays! Feel free to send in treats!.
We celebrate birthdays during our snack time. Please check with me for our class size, as it changes frequently throughout the school year.
Please only send party invitations to school if you are inviting our whole class!
Summer birthday? Feel free to send treats for a celebration on their half birthday. (Just let me know!)

16. Planners
Your child will be bringing home a planner every night. it will include homework for that night and any notes that I need to pass on to you.
Please notice that I will have initialed their planner and would like you to initial it before school the next day. This lets me know that you have seen the planner and what homework is due. If your student can’t complete the homework given, just write a note in the planner.
