2. Technology is a very important part of the modern world. There are few people who’s lives not been affected by the changes brought by the development of ICT. The courses offered allow pupils the chance to understand the effects and limitations of information and communication technology and new opportunities it provides within organisations and society. Computer Science at The Ongar Academy:

3. KS3 Scheme of Work: Pupils follow the Key Stage 3 Computing curriculum and receive one hour lesson per week. They are introduced to programming and ICT topics to equip them with valuable skills, knowledge and understanding required in the workplace and use in daily lives.

4. Enrichment: Computing club is on Wednesdays after school 3-4pm every week and open to all years. CC4G (Computing club for Girls) will be on once every fortnight after school.

5. KS4 Scheme of work: At KS4, students are taught how to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically when solving problems; building on the knowledge, understanding and skills established through the Computer Science elements of the Key Stage 3 programme of study. GCSE Computer Science is an option students can take in year 10.
