3 Simple Present Using simple present is good for when you are talking about your preferences in movies: What’s your favorite movie? What kind of movies do you like? What do you think about super hero movies? What are some other questions that you could use from the simple present to ask about movie preferences? How could you answer some of these questions?

4 Simple Past When telling stories or talking about movies, simple past is best. You can use simple past to talk about: Plot Feelings Specific situations What are some past tense questions that you could ask about a movie or situation in a movie? How could you answer that?

5 Emotions and feelings in Movies
Using past tense makes talking about how you felt from a movie easier. “How did ‘Avengers: Endgame’ make you feel?” “I felt very sad.” Remember! Not all verbs have regular endings (-ed) Some have irregular – feel -> felt; buy -> bought Consider making talking more specifically… “How did you feel when the movie ________________?” “How did ____________ make you feel after you saw _________________?”

Actor/Actress – someone who is in a movie Setting – when and where Plot – story of a movie Climax – the moment of highest emotion Reviews – what someone thinks of a movie Your Opinion – “I liked...” or “I didn’t like...”

7 Question creation and Interview
Create questions in both the present and past tenses. Ask your classmates to learn about their movie preferences and experiences.

8 Movie Information Conversation
Get into groups of two. One student will be Student A and another Student B. Don’t look at the other person’s paper!
