To enable the children to become familiar with the classroom they will be in and where to line up, where the toilets are and put their coats and bags etc! To show children where they will eat their lunch. To show the children the different learning areas. To complete class forms that will help settle your child. To provide the opportunity for you the parent to ask any questions on a 1:1 basis.

25 The START… THE START The children enter on a staggered basis starting from Wednesday 5th September: The order is as follows: Those youngest and new to the school followed by sibling. Children who are already 5 need to be in first group too as they are of statutory school age already. Pupils are admitted each day in order to help the smooth transition into the Reception classes. - This is not rushed and we take it at the child’ s own pace. - If your child becomes distressed we will make contact and discuss the support.

26 POINTERS FOR THE FIRST DAY !
We have the children in later on their first day at 9:00am after the normal time at 8:45am. It will also be a photo opportunity for you to catch this memorable day as you have done in the past and major milestones ! The children will be met by the Class Teacher in the playground. Parents cannot come into the classroom, it is for children only. All goodbyes are said in the playground. The children will be led in by the Class Teacher and Teaching Assistants. We appreciate that some children may get distressed, but please allow the Staff to guide them in.

27 Admin Reminders Children will take their own coats off and be supported to do this and hang them up if necessary (please make sure they are labelled as well as all their school uniform). Please allow the teacher to lead the children into the school to hang up coats and settle them down. Children can bring a water bottle and this must be labelled – they bring this in themselves. Please be at school by 3:10pm to collect your child from their class. Gates open at 3:00pm.
