4 Local Control Funding Formula
Districts receive funding based upon student demographics (base and supplemental). In July 2013, the state approved a new funding model for education. The first major change in 40 years. The spirit of the funding: a. Equitable base funding for all students, b. Local flexibility to meet the unique needs of each district, c. Clear focus on funding to provide resources for English Learners, Economically disadvantaged students and foster youth. The LCAP – local control accountability plan – holds the district accountable for the new funding.

5 The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) requires districts to:
Demonstrate district wide (all members) participation Create district goals that include the eight state priorities. Create an action plan that meets the needs of all students, English Learners, socio-economically disadvantaged students and other at-risk student groups. Collect student achievement information to hold the plan accountable for meeting student needs and the proper use of funding.
