1 2019 Benefits Open Enrollment

2 Open Enrollment is Oct. 31 – Nov. 16, 2018
For all benefits-eligible caregivers: Annual opportunity to make health benefit changes Add or remove dependents Enroll online via the HR portal at Caregiver.eHR.com Access the Benefits Service Center for benefits questions via phone, chat or ticket ? Open Enrollment has begun, running Oct. 31 through Nov. 16. Just like last year, we will utilize the HR portal to enroll in benefits. Any changes you make before Nov. 16 will be effective on January 1, 2019. There’s content posted on the HR portal that provides more details about the benefits programs, which you can also access at home or on your phone. In addition, you can direct questions Monday through Friday to the Benefits Service Center via phone, chat or ticket. Open enrollment ends on FRIDAY, November 16. Any changes you want to make for 2019 benefits after 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time are only allowed for qualified life events (birth, marriage, etc.).

ALEX is a fun way to learn about all of your benefits. Access ALEX from the home page of the benefits enrollment system or from the HR portal. Choosing a medical plan is a personal decision and no one plan is right for everyone. It’s up to you to take a careful look at your options and choose the coverage that works best for you and your family.

To reactivate an account, the caregiver needs to call AskIT. 6 The HR portal delivers a common technology across Providence St. Joseph Health. The HR portal will be your gateway to benefits information and to enroll in or change your benefits. Here are the top features of the site: You can access the site 24/7 from just about any type of device and a variety of browsers. We will talk about how you access the site in a few minutes. Though there are many new and great features in the HR portal, for our purposes, we want to focus on item 6, which is where you will enroll in your 2018 benefits. The HR portal continues to evolve to include more information about benefits and other HR related topics, so we encourage you to go check it out throughout the year.

[review instructions on slide] We have also created new guest access so family members and candidates can learn more about our benefit programs through a Guest site.

7 Enrolling in 2019 benefits 1 Click the shopping cart from the home page 2 Click “Get Started” to begin your benefits shopping experience Let’s take a closer look at how to enroll using the new benefits enrollment system. The experience is similar to shopping for your favorite products online. All current elections for caregivers will map over to this new system to provide an easy starting point for the 2019 enrollment. If you want to retain the same elections from 2018, there is nothing you need to do. However, please note that you need to re-enroll each year to continue participation in Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. It starts with the shopping cart on the home page of the HR portal. We will walk you through a few screen shots to give you a feel for how this works. The rest of the process is intuitive.

12 A few reminders If you want to keep your same elections for 2019, there is nothing you need to do But, it is highly recommended that you log in to the benefits enrollment system and review your elections You will also receive an confirming that your enrollment is complete You can change your elections up until 11:59 p.m. PT on Friday, Nov. 16 Newly hired or newly benefits-eligible caregivers enrolling for the first time must actively enroll to have coverage. If they do not enroll, they will not receive coverage in 2019 Be sure to review your elections and print a copy of the confirmation page for your records Again, we want to remind you that it is always a good idea to login to review your benefit elections and print a copy of your confirmation for your records.
