4 Our school is expanding the safety program to include the Standard Response Protocol based on these five actions. Each protocol has specific staff and student actions.

11 Emergency Cards After taking roll, the red/green/med card system is employed for administration/first responders to quickly identify the status of the teacher’s class.

12 Emergency Cards Green Card (OK) – All students accounted, no immediate help is necessary Red Card (Help) – Extra or missing students, or vital information must be exchanged Red & White Cross (Medical Help) – immediate medical attention is needed Place emergency cards in emergency folder with rosters and/or hang by exit door. Add all information to substitute folder/binder.

13 Public Address When communicating these actions, the action is labeled with a term. i.e. – “Threat outside, then followed by a directive “Lockout! Get inside. Lock outside doors.” Say it twice! Anyone can announce these actions (administration, staff, or students).
