Emergency Cards After taking roll, the red/green/med card system is employed for administration/first responders to quickly identify the status of the teacher’s class.
12
Emergency Cards Green Card (OK) – All students accounted, no immediate help is necessary Red Card (Help) – Extra or missing students, or vital information must be exchanged Red & White Cross (Medical Help) – immediate medical attention is needed Place emergency cards in emergency folder with rosters and/or hang by exit door. Add all information to substitute folder/binder.
13
Public Address When communicating these actions, the action is labeled with a term. i.e. – “Threat outside, then followed by a directive “Lockout! Get inside. Lock outside doors.” Say it twice! Anyone can announce these actions (administration, staff, or students).
