Instead of previewing today’s Vocab, let’s try something different 
Turn to Chapter 2, page 22. As we read, look for the words listed on today’s handout. Whenever you find one of these words, raise your hand so the whole class can note that. Then, using only the context clues in the chapter, see if you can figure out what each word means and on the first line of each word, write down what you think is the definition.
However, please do NOT yet complete the part that calls for creating sentences. Leave that as homework. If you do the sentences in class, I will collect your paper and you will take a zero.
Why would I ask that you NOT work on the sentences while we are reading Chapter 2?
