2 Outcomes: 1. Demonstrate their ability to determine the main point or points in informational reading. 2. Compare and contrast today’s two pieces with each other and with the narrative “Storm.” 3. Analyze three essays for scientific information versus anecdotal information. 4. Identify the narrator’s point of view (first, second, or third) in each of the three essays.

3 How many of you have seen a movie titled, Homeward Bound? Can someone explain the plot of that story? Today’s story may remind you of the movie, Homeward Bound. Our goal for today’s readings is to play detective by analyzing each article to answer this question: What is the main point the author is trying to make? Turn in your Lit book to p. 436....
