A Note from the Teacher
What’s Happening in...
Reading – This week we read fiction and non-fiction books about ponds and frogs. We learned facts about the different kinds of animals that live in and around ponds, along with frogs. We continued to discuss story elements and worked on our reading comprehension.
Sight Words – oil, sit, water
Math – This week we learned about money (quarter, nickel, dime and penny). We learned their worth and what each of them looks like. We continued our review of measurement, solving addition/subtraction and counting.
REMINDER: For our field trips to California Woods (Monday May 8th) and the Cincinnati Zoo (Friday May 12th), please pack students lunch in brown paper bag or plastic bag with their name. We will need to throw all trash away after lunch, therefore no lunchboxes.
If you haven’t already please sign and return the Firehouse permission slip before May 15th.
Kindergarten Graduation is rapidly approaching. Our graduation will be Tuesday May 23rd at 5:30 at Goshen High School, please have students arrive no later than 5:15. Be on the look out for more reminders in your child’s red folder.
If you would like to order a graduation dvd, please turn in pink order form with method of payment. If you need another one, please let me know.
If your child has started AR please continue having them read their baggy books. They also need to bring their books back to school with them everyday. Students may also read books from home, check out the to see if it has a corresponding quiz. If it does, send it in!
